Very Sticky Toffee Pudding

so this is the dessert that i had following the lamb from the last post. from edinburgh, scotland at the wedgwood restaurant on the royal mile: very sticky toffee pudding. (this deserved an introduction) let it be here known that there is no pudding in very sticky toffee pudding, though it is sticky and there may be toffee in there that i just couldn't taste. basically very sticky toffee pudding (its actual name is "very sticky toffee pudding". true story.) is a round of really sweet chocolate cake which sits in a carmel bath, sprinkled with confectioner's sugar, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. word. the carmel, vanilla ice cream, and confectioner's sugar did not stand out particularly by themselves, but when used as garnish for the cake, they complimented it very well! the cake itself has a texture like a cake which has been soaked in syrup. it tastes like a carmel cake and it disastrously sweet. it may be too sweet. that, i would say, is its only downside. 8/10 (it was super tasty, but just a little too sweet.)
